Eamon Dunphy launches The Third Stroke Did It – The Staggered End of European Civilisation

Desmond Fennel – Book Launch 01 Desmond Fennell’s thought provoking book was launched by broadcaster and commentator Eamon Dunphy at a well attended function in Doheny & Nesbitts.

Welcoming the new publication Dunphy spoke of his high regard for Desmond Fennell and praised the authors contribution to Irish society as a writer and philosopher.

Summarising the essays that are included in the book Desmond Fennell questioned the soft totalitarianism of modern European society. He emphasised that his purpose in writing the book was to generate a debate which is a key element in a healthy society.

Desmond Fennel – Book Launch 04The book has attracted a wide audience since its publication in December 2012. Following on reviews in The Phoenix and an extract in the Sunday Times (On Thinking in Ireland) the author has been interviewed by a number of national radio programmes including Newstalks Marc Coleman and Sean Montcrief.

Desmond Fennell argues with great passion and undeniable logic that while European Civilisation survived two makes blows (The Russian Revolution and the Nazi Revolution) It cannot survive the third blow – the left liberal launched Second American Revolution. After this liberal regime has run its senseless course, it will dissolve into social chaos out of which a new civilisation will arise consigning Europe to history.
